Australian Roundabouts
I was in Sydney in 2000 to check out the Olympics. Stayed in Bondi Beach and swam laps at the olympic pools in Homebush Bay. The main roundabout included pedestrian crosswalk signals. While staying at a Backpackers near St. Kilda in Melbourne was amazed to see roundabouts with trams going through their center. That was my inspiration when I got back to the states to design a similar roundabout at the University of Utah. It opened in 2003.
